April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball athletes who have won medals in many Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join her in Tokyo. In addition, Ross is aiming to capture her first Olympic gold. As she is 39 and has a long way to go, this could be her last shot. Nevertheless, she remains confident of achieving top honours. Ross on NBC Boston, said that when the team performs consistently or well it could be able to win gold. "I'm also going to try to have a bit of luck." Ross was born August 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided there together with her parents. In Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous different sports. She played basketball and ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits as a prep athlete. Although she was a pro in indoor volleyball, it was clear that her abilities were higher than average. In her own biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside hitter (middle blocker) as well as a setting (outside blocker). In recognition of her accomplishments she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. Also, she won the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross is playing with Klineman since 2017 but her beach game was well-established long before the year. She has won major competitions with different players. The other has become an iconic player in the volleyball world. From 2007 until 2013, she was partnered by Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international circuit, winning a 2009 world title together. The duo took silver in London's Olympic Games. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the group that could take home the gold. It was fate that had them. Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. In 2016, the duo won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC in her college prior to becoming a professional. The time she spent in the Trojans' ranks was an impressive one. The year 2000 was her freshman year. was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and be an All-American. Additionally, she was one of the key players in helping the Trojans to make it to it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss in her sophomore, however, she was able to achieve the All-American award. Over her final two years within the team, she guided the Trojans towards the summit by winning two successive national titles. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross, a USC international relations major, was a volleyball star. Sadly, Ross mother Margie never got to see Ross's daughter reach the highest levels of beach volleyball fame. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001, when Ross was an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. But she still keeps her parents close to her the heart. Margie is a source of inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beach.
